July 16–18, 2025 | Sheraton Flowood The Refuge Hotel & Conference Center
Canopy’s Children’s Mental Health Summit, presented by Regions Bank, was held July 16–18, 2025, at the Sheraton Flowood The Refuge Hotel & Conference Center. Canopy’s three-day event brought together more than 300 professionals, including educators, mental health providers, child welfare leaders and community partners, all united around a shared commitment to supporting children’s mental health across Mississippi and beyond.
Centered on the theme Responding to an Anxious Generation, the summit featured nationally recognized speakers including Katherine Martinko, Vanessa McNeal and Gerry Brooks. Through engaging keynotes and interactive breakout sessions, attendees explored the growing impact of the digital world on childhood and gained practical, evidence-based strategies to help children build resilience, find balance and thrive. Sessions focused on topics such as emotional regulation, screen-time balance and behavioral health, equipping participants with tools they could immediately apply in their schools, homes and communities.
More than a “conference,” the Children’s Mental Health Summit served as a call to action, strengthening a statewide movement to prioritize children’s well-being. By creating space for collaboration, learning and leadership, Canopy continues to position Mississippi at the forefront of advancing innovative, hope-centered solutions for children and families.
