Canopy Children’s Solutions (Canopy) needs help to Spread the Love this February by collecting new bedspreads, comforters, pillows, blankets and sheets for children and families across Mississippi.
Many of the children who come to Canopy have experienced emotional and/or physical trauma often leaving them feeling scared and unsafe. Through individualized solutions, children at Canopy are guided along a path of healing and are given the opportunity to transform their lives.
“The path to healing and emotional recovery can be a long and arduous journey,” said Caitlin Mudd, Program Director for the CARES Center Jackson. “The feelings of comfort and security provided by something as simple as a blanket or comforter can be an immediate relief. Experiencing the warmth and safety of a blanket, and the care that it symbolizes, is an important step in helping our children heal.”
Canopy is the state’s most comprehensive provider of children’s behavioral health, educational and social service solutions serving all 82 Mississippi counties. Solutions offered through Canopy include autism programs, intensive psychiatric care, specialized education programs, therapeutic foster care, crisis solutions and shelters, behavioral health solutions, adoption, family preservation and family reunification. Through a network of 20 locations, Canopy provides direct care to more than 4,000 children each year.
