Canopy Introduces Julie Ferguson as New Director of Business Performance

Canopy Children’s Solutions is excited to welcome Julie Ferguson, RN, BSN, CPCO, to its management team. Ferguson serves as Canopy’s new Director of Business Performance. In this role, she is responsible for supporting growth by leading the strategic analysis of business opportunities, financial decisions, and organizational operations. She has an eye for identifying and training up management talent and strategizing best-practices for various administrative and support functions for optimal efficiency of Canopy’s solutions.

She brings with her nearly four decades of experience in nursing, healthcare management, and compliance. Prior to joining Canopy full-time, through work as a consultant, Ferguson provided direction to the organization during the establishment of Canopy’s Center of Excellence in Jackson. Throughout the span of her career, Ferguson has provided leadership to a number of healthcare entities during organizational restructuring, with particular expertise in organizations with multiple specialties and locations.

She received her undergraduate degree in Nursing from Mississippi College where she also pursued master’s level courses in Health Services Administration. She is a Registered Nurse and Certified Professional Compliance Officer.

Ferguson is a Charter member of Omicron Lambda, chapter of Sigma Theta Tau and was part of Mississippi Business Journal’s 50 Leading Business Women Class of 2010. She was appointed to and previously served on the Mississippi Commission for the Status of Women. She has also served on committees for the American Heart Association and the March of Dimes and is a strong advocate for children’s charities.

In her spare time, Ferguson enjoys traveling, music and spending time with her family and beloved pets. Raised in North Mississippi, she is now a resident of Rankin County. She has two grown daughters and is excitedly awaiting the arrival of her first grandchild.
