A women’s community event hosted by the Flowood Chamber of Commerce will be held on September 11 at 6 p.m. at the Ivy Venue. The conference “Wise Women, Wise Choices” focuses on the spiritual, mental and physical needs of women of all ages. The conference keynote speaker is Pam Tebow, the mother of Heisman trophy winner Tim Tebow.
In addition to Pam Tebow, the evening will include a panel discussion of respected female community leaders. Panel participants include: Shani Meck, MD, at East Lakeland-OB/GYN, Sherry Toler, LPC, at Watershed Counseling and Davy Flowers, Worship Minister at Pinelake Church. The event will cover topics that are relevant to teens, adults and seniors.
“This event is as an excellent opportunity to support and inspire the women in our community,” said Flowood Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Jennifer Anderson. “We are grateful to all of the businesses who supported us and the volunteers who have helped us make this vision into a reality.”
Anderson added that Pam Tebow speaks to women’s groups and organizations in cities across America. Her notoriety increased when her youngest son won the Heisman Trophy following his sophomore football season with the Florida Gators. She has appeared on Good Morning America and won national awards, including “Inspiring Woman of the Year” in 2013, and “Extraordinary Woman of the Year” in 2014.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Canopy Children Solutions and LifeHouse Ministries. Food will be provided by Fresh Cut Catering and there will be live music and great door prizes.
