2019 Butterfly Ball Sets Stage for Transformative Evening for Children’s Mental Health

Canopy Children’s Solutions, alongside Trustmark, proudly presented the 2019 inaugural Butterfly Ball benefit gala. This event is the first of its kind in the state specifically designed to raise much-needed funds and awareness for children’s mental health in Mississippi.

“When I think of what Canopy has done in our 107 year history, I think of the thousands of lives that would look so different had it not been for the solutions pioneered at Canopy when children’s and families’ needs were going unmet,” said Canopy CEO John D. Damon, Ph.D. “As excited and proud as I am of our history, families still need us, and continue to need us in new ways. I think about what we can do for children to help them thrive and overcome their circumstances with the resources and partnerships for innovation. Thanks to opportunities to support mental health like the Butterfly Ball, Canopy’s innovations can become reality and the possibilities are endless.”

A few of the honored guests who were in attendance included recipients of Canopy’s 2019 Value Awards, which are Canopy’s top honors for employees who exemplify Canopy’s Core Values and one of Canopy’s 2019 Chrysalis Award recipients, Trustmark. Chrysalis Awards are presented to individuals and organizations whose work and service have created a tangible impact on the welfare of Mississippi children. Celebrity emcees for the evening were the esteemed Elise Jordan, well-known as a political analysts with MSNBC, and nationally acclaimed cartoonist and media host Marshall Ramsey.

The inaugural event was sold out and raised more than $250,000 for children’s mental health!
