Terry Hight, Ph.D.

Terry Hight

Terry’s career includes more than 15 years of operational management experience and expertise in the behavioral health and social services environment. As COO, Terry ensures the behavioral health, educational and social services solutions work together toward the common purpose of creating permanent, loving homes for children and yielding transformational results. Additionally, he oversees the direction of the Human Resources, Information Technology, Organizational Development & Training, and Quality & Evaluation departments.

Terry is a Licensed Psychologist and has been with Canopy since 2001. Prior to joining Canopy, Terry was part of a management consulting firm in Virginia. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Mississippi College, a Master of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Reformed Theological Seminary. Terry was a Phi Kappa Phi graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University where he holds a Master of Science degree and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Counseling Psychology. Terry has previously served as part of the national board of directors for the Children’s Home Society of America.

Terry and his wife are the proud parents of three children. He is an active member of his local community with involvement in the leadership of Boy Scout Troop 8 at First Baptist Church of Jackson. He and his family reside in Flowood, Mississippi.
