Shea Hutchins’ career spans over 20 years including both clinical and administrative leadership experience. As Canopy Children’s Solutions’ Chief Solutions Officer, Shea oversees day-to-day operations and direction of the organization’s statewide continuum of services which, includes the state’s most comprehensive array of children’s behavioral health, educational and social service solutions as well as oversight of admissions and medical staff. Her role within the executive team helps to disseminate information about strategic goals throughout the organization as well as the implementation of new programs through strategic initiatives. Shea is instrumental in helping to identify and develop talent within Canopy staff turning strong workers into organizational leaders.
Much of Shea’s experience was carefully nurtured and developed through different roles within the organization. Shea joined the Canopy in 2002 as a clinical therapist for CARES Center Jackson. She went on to become the CARES Clinical Director and, shortly thereafter, was promoted to Residential Division Director. In 2011, Shea left to pursue a position with Rankin County School District as a General Education Behavior Specialist allowing her to spend more time with her family. Shea returned to Canopy in 2014 as the Senior Director of Operations. She was named Chief Solutions Officer in January 2018.
Shea holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Mississippi College and a Master’s of Social Work from the University of Alabama. She completed two years post-graduate clinical supervision to obtain her license in Clinical Social Work.
Shea and her husband are proud parents to two children. She is active in her children’s sports ventures and is herself a fitness enthusiast promoting the benefits of a healthy mind and body. She and her family are active members of Morrison Height’s Baptist Church and reside in Clinton, Mississippi.
