Tammy Amis brings over 20 years of healthcare experience to the executive team at Canopy, with more than a decade dedicated to not-for-profit healthcare administration. A dynamic leader, she excels in coordinating organizational strategies, developing resources, and engaging key stakeholders to align vision with the essential resources needed for successful project execution.
In her role as Chief of Staff, Tammy serves as the primary liaison between the Chief Executive Officer and high-level external contacts, while also fostering strong relationships with Canopy’s Board of Directors. She is dedicated to enhancing board effectiveness and fostering strong governance practices. Tammy combines a deep understanding of organizational dynamics with a passion for empowering others to maximize their impact. She has oversight of Canopy’s Advancement efforts and plays a key role in the organization’s marketing, development, and legislative initiatives.
Tammy joined Canopy in 2013 after a successful career at a Jackson-area hospital. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering, with a minor in Mathematics, from Mississippi State University, followed by a Master’s in Business Administration from the Else School of Management at Millsaps College. Additionally, she holds a Lean Six Sigma certification, demonstrating her commitment to customer service, efficiency and quality improvement.
