Innovating Pathways
FOR CHILDREN’S MENTAL HEALTH
The 2023 Canopy Children’s Mental Health Summit, held on May 11-12, centered on the theme “Innovating Pathways for Children’s Mental Health.” The event featured a keynote address by Dr. Kimberly Noble, who presented her groundbreaking research on the relationship between socioeconomic inequality and children’s cognitive and brain development. Dr. Noble discussed her work on “Baby’s First Years,” the first clinical trial examining the effects of poverty reduction in the initial three years of life. This insightful presentation underscored the importance of addressing economic disparities to support children’s mental health and development.
The summit also featured an innovation keynote panel with Canopy CEO, Dr. John D. Damon, Piali Ghose, Senior Director of Microsoft Garage, and Michael O’Neil, Founder and CEO of GetWell, followed by a breakout session where participants explored an innovation framework and participated in a workshop. This session highlighted the role of innovative thinking and technology in advancing mental health solutions, including Canopy Anywhere. Special thank you to presenting sponsor, Mississippi Department of Mental Health, as well as all other sponsors and exhibitors who supported the Children’s Mental Health Summit. Their contributions made this event a significant step forward in improving mental health pathways for children.
