Abstract: Research has shown that humans show patterns of learning and responding that differ from animals in similar situations. Relational Frame Theory (RFT) has been offered as a functional analytic approach to understanding human language and cognition. This workshop will give an overview of RFT, as well as discuss implications for ABA practice, in particular with children with autism.

  1.  Participants will describe the historical development of RFT
  2. Participants will define the basic components of RFT, including Crel and Cfunc.
  3. Participants will discuss implications of RFT in a variety of treatment applications, such as autism.
