Canopy Children’s Solutions is excited to announce the addition of Hart Wylie, PMHNP-BC, to its team of mental health professionals providing innovative care at the Jackson-based Center of Excellence. As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, she helps families navigate their mental health needs and options by providing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and referrals to intensive psychiatric programs for youth.
Wylie brings with her expertise from working in the mental health field for more than a decade. She began her career as a licensed professional counselor where she gained experience with all age ranges. It was during that time that she found her passion in working with youth. Wanting to expand her understanding of the mind and body, Wylie went into nursing. As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, she served several years in private practice and most recently with the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC).
“I am most excited about being part of a team with a passionate work culture, in an environment that focuses on innovation, integration and collaboration,” said Wylie. “Each child is more than a collection of symptoms but the true product of many pieces relational, environmental, and biological coming together. I believe the system Canopy has created is formatted to nurture that understanding and help a child not just with their symptoms but in a deeper more meaningful way that creates lasting change.”
Wylie holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Mississippi College and a master’s degree in Marriage & Family Therapy/Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary in Clinton. She has also received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Nursing from UMMC.
Aside from her professional work, Wylie actively participates in positive ways to balance mental and physical health. She enjoys social events, spending time with her children, playing tennis, and experimenting with new recipes for her family to enjoy. She is active in the children’s ministry in her local church and serves as a deacon for Northminster Baptist Church in Jackson.
Born and raised in Mississippi, Wylie currently resides with her two small daughters at their home in Rankin County.
