How To Combat Summer Brain Drain
Children spend all year looking forward to the freedom of summertime. No school, no homework, seemingly no responsibilities. Parents, however, dread this season almost as much as their kids yearn for it. Caregivers want their children to have a relaxing summer. After a long academic year, kids certainly deserve a break.
Canopy Promotes National Foster Care Month
May is a month filled with hope and happiness. Mother's Day allows us to celebrate the moms in our lives. The end of the school year presents days to be filled with the activities we most enjoy. For those graduating school, the next phase of life is on the horizon, overflowing with possibilities. As spring turns into summer, the days get longer, the weather gets sunnier and our lives get brighter.
Canopy Children’s Solutions Plants Unusual Gardens This April
It's springtime in Mississippi. Birds are chirping, the sun is shining, and flower gardens are blooming vibrantly, delighting us with their beauty and disrupting us with their pollen. This month, Canopy Children’s Solutions (Canopy) is planting its own delightful, disruptive gardens across our state. In front of homes and businesses, flocks of blue pinwheels will dance in the wind, reminding us of the whimsy of childhood. These pinwheels are the official symbol of Child Abuse Awareness Month, placed intentionally to promote the importance of communities working together to raise awareness and ultimately end child abuse.
Women’s History Month
March is Women’s History Month, a time to celebrate and commemorate the dynamic role of women in American history. This year, Canopy Children’s Solutions (Canopy) celebrates 110 years of transforming the lives of Mississippi children and families. Canopy’s four Core Values will continue being a beacon of hope for the next 100 years.
