Free Community Education Classes
Healthy family values
Through these classes LINK provides families with support systems to build stronger, healthier relationships. Teaching them ways to create healthy family values and the importance of these values. Also, by coaching participants on building relationships and why “relationships matter”, which is also one of OUR very own core values. Providing necessary resources to prevent childhood trauma.
Communication strategies
LINK provides capitalization on these skills and strategies by helping families develop healthy communication skills and strategies. Helping participants communicate effectively by providing tools and resources that will help them in any problem areas. Teaching and educating them on the different types of communication and how they are used in every environment. Offering communication material online and in-person.
How to address conflict
LINK addresses conflict by educating families and individuals on conflict and self- control. Through these classes’ participants will gain knowledge and insight on ways to deal with conflict, conflict resolution strategies, and tips for overcoming and managing past experiences. Providing helpful resources that help families and individuals make healthy decisions when it comes to conflict.
Healthy parenting strategies
LINK’s healthy parenting strategy classes provide families and individuals with the resources and knowledge needed to understand and overcome barriers/stressors that they may be experiencing through parenting. LINK equips these families with helping tools such as active parenting activities, free online courses, child development engagement, and etc. These tools touch basis on many things such as child abuse and neglect, healthy child development, parenting tips, being a role model, and empathy to name a few. Overall, teaching participants formation and maintenance of a single parent or two parent household, providing informal and formal support.
Self-care practices
Teaching and helping those individuals and families the importance of self-care. Helping them develop ways to balance self-care beyond stressors, crises, or everyday life in general. Showing up as an advocate, and helping them realize the importance and correlation of taking the best care of themselves therefore, they can provide the best care for their families as well.
Mental illness identification
LINK educates and helps participants learn and identify the warning signs of suicide/mental illness. Connecting families to mental health services state, local, and federal based. Allowing participants and families to receive the care, education, and funding they need to overcome and cope with their illness and live their fullest lives.
Teen pregnancy resources
Through these classes LINK provides as much support and knowledge that is needed on teen pregnancy prevention and parenting skills. Providing training and pointing individuals in the right direction to navigate and obtain the multitude of resources that are available. Making sure families and individuals do not feel isolated or alone, LINK connects families to a multitude of community services. Linking them to partnering organizations to ensure they receive all that is needed.
How to identify drug use
LINK’s partnerships with local community partners, such as-Life Help Drug Program, Oak Arbor, Pine Belt Behavioral Health & Addiction Clearview Recovery, SAMHSA Helpline and other programs statewide. These partners assist the team with coaching and/or knowing the signs or how to identify drug use and/or substance abuse. With these collaborations and knowledge our teams can successfully further educate those individuals and families through our classes.
