Mississippi Youth Programs Around the Clock
For the families of children experiencing serious emotional or behavioral issues, everyday life is chaotic. Parents find themselves concerned with emotional health of the child while worrying about the safety of their other children. Mississippi Youth Programs Around the Clock (MYPAC) offers hope to families in distress.
Canopy Children’s Solutions, in partnership with the Mississippi Division of Medicaid, offers this innovative home and community-based service as an alternative to psychiatric residential services. MYPAC allows children to remain in their home setting where they are most comfortable. The program teaches families how to understand and care for the child’s specific needs. We identify community partners for the family that aid and support them, such as ministers and teachers. Every child in the MYPAC program has access to a board-certified child psychiatrist who evaluates their progress and provides therapeutic solutions.
There is no specific length of care in MYPAC. Every child is given the care needed until the family and case manager determine self-sufficiency has been attained.
Each child in MYPAC is given an individual plan, which provides intensive in-home therapy, crisis intervention, case management, psychiatric services, family education and support and educational and social skills development.
