Canopy’s Therapeutic Day Treatment Program
This program provides school-age children with serious emotional disorders the skills and treatment they need to successfully thrive in their school and community. Day Treatment Solutions are based on behavior management principles and include positive feedback, self-esteem building, and social skills training. Depending on the needs of the child, additional treatment may include training in impulse control, anger management, problem solving, and conflict resolution.
By combining psychosocial and academic interventions, the program helps participants experience meaningful behavioral skills development and academic success. Day Treatment staff collaborates closely with the child’s teachers and parents. This ensures the ongoing success of the child and helps the child transfer lessons learned in the Canopy Day Treatment Program to their traditional school setting. The program provides a means to divert children with behavior and emotional problems from hospitalization, residential treatment, school suspension, and/or grade retention.
